Educational Outreach

Education on how to work with production is a priority for the Film Office. The Film Office can bring production in but it is the individuals that work with the production that keep them coming back. Educational outreach is designed to educate partners about the film industry and strengthen strategic alliances. Partners include: Economic Development Councils, Convention and Visitors' Bureaus, Chambers of Commerce, City Managers, City and County Planners, Public Land Managers,Tribal contacts and Legislators.

Educational Activities include:

  • Film Fundamentals Program offers a free two-hour interactive "Film Fundamentals" Workshop that gives the basics on how to work with production. Delivered all over the state, panels are usually comprised of a location manager and location representatives that have experience working with productions.
  • Filming Guidelines - Film Office representatives will work with local organizations to develop filming guidelines. The office will provide sample guidelines and approved boilerplate legal language. They are available to answer all questions or run draft guidelines by location managers for comment before finalizing.
  • Customized Production Panels - The Film Office works with organizations to put together educational panels for their members. Working with the organizer, the Film Office will help select the best speakers to address a particular topic.
  • Speeches - A Film Office representative is always available to speak about the work of the office and the industry.
