Wenatchee, Washington
Wenatchee and East Wenatchee in eastern Washington are situated on the banks of the Columbia River in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. This agriculturally diverse area is rich with apple, cherry and pear orchards, along with burgeoning vineyards and wineries. Plenty of sunshine, moderate temperatures and low humidity offer abundant opportunities for outdoor filming.
Wenatchee is a mix of modern day amenities and turn of the century buildings. The "downtown" area is a unique assembly of historic buildings from the early 1900's, complete with elaborate cornices and art deco detailing. The city has a wide variety of All-American neighborhoods from vintage 1900's to modern day suburbs.
The airport in East Wenatchee with commercial air service is home to the little known "Miss Veedol", a working reproduction of the plane that made the first transpacific flight in 1931 from Misawa, Japan to Fancher Field, above what would become the city of East Wenatchee. This small community consists of shopping centers, residential neighborhoods, fruit orchards and embodies the spirit of small town America.
Two dams, a major rail yard, unique ice age geological features, modern and historic bridges, industrial areas, a ski area within a short driving distance and one of the last drive-in theaters in the state, are just some of the amenities available.
